| A
critical aspect of my work is my unique set of experiences and
education in managing and mediating conflicts that arise among
Birth parents, Adoptive Families and Intended Parent(s), Surrogates,
and those involved with Medically Assisted Reproduction.
My
services elicit therapeutic issues, however my work is not
“psychotherapy” per se, nor is it restricted by
the protocols of psychotherapy. Though I am trained as a therapist,
and often draw on my skills in this area, I choose to take
a comprehensive educational approach where social work and
psychology converge. I believe this is more conducive to clients
getting the help they need in navigating their complex journey.
As
a result, I choose to regard myself as a guide for those on
the journey.
After
decades of experience in the fields of child welfare, social
work, women’s health and family planning, I have a vision
that honors the best interest of the child at every turn in
the road. Unlike many professionals whose pay depends upon
the outcome, I focus on educating the participants about the
potential impacts of their choices upon the child’s
future.
